15. THE APOSTOLIC MISSION
UUMission fully concentrates on the “direct mission” activities and dedicate ourselves to evangelism and ministry that is modeled after the apostles of Jesus, who committed their lives to leading people to Jesus and making them true disciples of Christ. We train young people who will devote themselves to fervent evangelism, church planting, and gospel ministry that delivers the Good News of salvation and eternal life through Jesus Christ. We concentrate on training men and women to lead lost souls, imprisoned in darkness by Satan, into the Kingdom of God and the glorious light of His Son.
UUMission respects Good Samaritan activity: mercy homes, community service, medical missions, educational outreaches, and publishing endeavors. We honor those who build worship places and care for homeless people. Moreover, also important to our Christian mission is the reformation of secular society: achieving social justice and human rights; protection of the environment and institution of programs to abate pollution; nuclear deterrence; racial integration; and any activity, project, or program that would promote peace.
It is vital, however, that we don't limit our apostolic work to human welfare, construction of churches, relief, and mobilizing human resources. If we don't evangelize and only perform social service, churches will empty and Christianity will decline. That would be like giving all our energy to elderly welfare centers and never giving birth to new generations of Christians.
