34. UUMISSION AND MISSION TO CHINA

 

UUMission is closely related to the founders' mission activity to China. Bread University provides education for evangelists and pastors who are fully filled with the Holy Spirit, like the Chinese evangelist, Dr. John Sung (1901-1944). He delivered the Gospel in Mandarin Chinese. About 1.2 billion people in China use that language. Mandarin is also spoken among Chinese in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand.

 

UUMission was the inspiration of the founder while he participated in a teaching mission in China. As he visited Beijing, Shanghai, and the provinces of Anhui and Shandong, he prayed for evangelism in China. He asked Kosin University to offer seminary Chinese and English classes toward a Master of Divinity degree. He helped many young Chinese get admission to Kosin University and provided sponsors for them. College graduates then entered Kosin University-Korea Theological Seminary-Chonan, Presbyterian College and Theological Seminary-Seoul, or Reformed Presbyterian Seminary-USA.
