30. LATIN AMERICA

Bread University relays the message of the Bible and the Gospel of salvation, especially the truth of justification by faith, to nominal members of the Roman Catholic Church, helping them to understand and convert to historical Christianity. Latin Americans look for the Bread of Life from Heaven and desire eternal security, yet most Latino countries are in poverty.

The continent of South America takes up 15 percent of the entire surface of the Earth. Countries in the middle and south America are poor. Rich and educated people are living in the central part of cities, while poors and very poors and very very poor native south Americans-Indians are reside in the marginal area of cities without educational benefits. They are rarely received junior high education. UUMission is primarily concerned to poors as our Lord Jesus Christ preached the good news to the poors(Luke 7:11).

The people of Brazil speak primarily Portuguese, but many other countries in South and Central America speak Spanish. By 2018, the Spanish-speaking population of Latin America and the United States is approximately 418 million people, and those speaking Spanish in Spain number about 49 million people. Therefore, the estimated number of the world’s Spanish-speaking population is 467 million people.

The aboriginal people in Latin America are Asian descendants, whose ancestors moved to that land through the Bering straits during the Ice Age. Continental countries got their independence in the 1800s, the island countries in the Caribbean Sea in the 1900s. Twenty independent nations are in South America, and 13 nations are in the Caribbean Sea. There are still some nations existing as colonies.
